Gears of War: E-Day has reportedly sold over 400,000 units

Given its substantial budget, which is estimated at several hundred million dollars, Gears of War: E-Day was, on paper, a game that would be very difficult to make profitable. The latest figures released by Tom Warren of The Verge seem to paint a rather concerning picture.

According to these figures, The Coalition’s title has reportedly sold more than 400,000 copies since its launch in early October. This includes Steam and Xbox copies, excluding revenue from Xbox Game Pass. Indeed, the game has likely attracted many players who subscribe to the service. The fact that Gears of War: E-Day isn’t available on PS5 may also have hurt sales.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for the series.
