Alan Wake 2 may only run in 840p at 60 FPS on PS5 Pro

During the presentation of the (already) controversial PS5 Pro last week, Sony pledged to erase the boundary between the quality and performance modes to which we've grown accustomed.

Alas, if we are to believe the Digital Foundry YouTube channel (and its Patreon), we will by no means achieve the 4K at 60 FPS that so many are dreaming of. In fact, the console will fall far short of the mark on several recent releases.

This could very well be the case of Alan Wake 2, which will only run in 840p at 60 FPS. Remedy will use PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution to upgrade the definition thanks to AI.

As for The Last of Us Part II, it will reach 1440p at 60 FPS and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will be between 1440p and 1800p. For its part, both Dragon's Dogma 2 and Assassin's Creed Shadows appear to be running at 864p at 60 FPS.
