Xbox wants to make smaller games to gain prestige and win awards

Microsoft's course of action keeps making sense all right. After having closed Tango Gameworks (and three other studios), the American company wants to create games similar to Hi-Fi RUSH... A title that was made by the now-defunct Japanese studio.

In a message adressed to his employees, Matt Booty, head of Xbox Game Studios expressed his desire to make "smaller games that give us prestige and awards".

This is sure to surprise many employees, given that Tango Gameworks had just been closed. After all, Hi-Fi RUSH had won plenty of awards at pretty known ceremonies such as the Game Awards, BAFTAs and Game Developers Choise awards.
