Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis will preserve the iconic elements of the original game

Whenever a remake is released, longtime fans worry that their favorite game will be significantly changed. Of course, this is also the case with Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, which faces the daunting task of updating the first title in the series while making it accessible to a new audience.
Michał Kuk, the project’s creative director, is well aware of this concern. He wanted to reassure the community during an interview with Edge magazine. He wants Legacy of Atlantis to preserve the iconic elements of the Tomb Raider game released in 1996.
"Your brain remembers the things that evoked the strongest emotions for you. Those are the elements that need to be included [in the remake] almost intact."
However, Kuk admitted that some aspects of the original game cannot be preserved. This is due to the increased level of realism required for current productions.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis will be released on February 12, 2027, for PS5, XBOX Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC.
