The controller controls for World of Warcraft are currently in the testing phase

Blizzard Entertainment is set to fulfill a long-standing request for its MMORPG. Soon, players will be able to explore the world of World of Warcraft using a controller.

The announcement was made during BlizzCon 2026. A screenshot detailing the controls for an Xbox controller was shared on social media. It states that this feature is currently in the alpha phase and that the developers are seeking feedback to make improvements.

For now, controller gameplay is limited to World of Warcraft: Forever, specifically in the starting zone reserved for the “Skyborne” race. The game will automatically detect the controller. It is not currently usable in dungeons.
