Blizzard wants to bring World of Warcraft to all platforms

Blizzard Entertainment has apparently not given up on the idea of porting World of Warcraft to other platforms. This is evident from an interview with Holly Longdale, executive producer and vice president of the series, for GamesRadar+.

She clearly outlined the studio’s vision of making the MMORPG playable on as many platforms as possible. It will undoubtedly take time, but the developers are genuinely committed to freeing World of Warcraft from PC.

"Play it wherever you want, and at some point on whatever you want. But the first leg of that journey is getting game pad working really well with World of Warcraft. We thought Forever was the perfect place to start.

And, you know, looking at where things are going when we hear about [Xbox] Project Helix, etc., I think platforms will be a bit more ubiquitous. I mean, honestly, we just want to be able to play it anywhere.

[...] I think just doing some of the work on game pad is going to give players a lot of flexibility that goes beyond consoles."

While the arrival of World of Warcraft on Xbox, PlayStation, and even Switch 2 isn’t official yet, the path now seems clear.
