The next mainline God of War is rumored to take place in Egypt

There are two God of War projects currently in development. On the one hand, we have a kind of Metroidvania spin-off set in Greece, and on the other, a new entry in the main saga.

Insider Tom Henderson briefly mentioned this title, which will follow God of War Ragnarök. In a podcast for the Insider Gaming website, Henderson said he saw an image of Kratos with "an Egyptian curved sword". He is probably referring to the khepesh here, which is a weapon used in ancient Egypt.

While there have already been many rumors to this effect, it is highly likely that Egyptian mythology will serve as the setting for Kratos in the next God of War.
