ASUS is investigating the performance issues on its ROG laptops
, by Quentin
ASUS has released an official statement in response to recurring complaints from gamers about stuttering, micro-freezes, and audio crackling observed on certain ROG models released between 2021 and 2024 (Zephyrus, Strix, and Scar in particular).
The company acknowledges the problem and confirms that it has started an internal investigation on the matter. Some reports point to issues related to ACPI management in the BIOS, which cause the CPU load to lock onto a single core and, in some cases, cause the GPU to cycle power unexpectedly.
Users have reported slight improvements after BIOS or firmware updates, but there is no universal fix at the time. ASUS says it will communicate through its official channels as soon as a solution is ready.
