Visions of Mana co-director has founded a new studio to protect creators

Shortly after the release of Visions of Mana last August, NetEase decided to close its development studio. Ouka Studios went out with a whimper, and its developers were left out in the cold.

Co-directors Ryosuke Yoshida and Kenji Ozawa went their separate ways. The former joined Square Enix and the latter founded Studio Sasanqua. In an interview, Ozawa said he wanted to create this new company to protect creators. To this end, management will take responsibility for poor results, not the developers.

For him, "management must protect the creators", which is why management and development will be merged within this studio. Ozawa concludes by saying that he will work on the first game under this team, and that he will take responsibility in the event of failure.
