The critics are pleased with Avowed

Early access for Avowed begins on February 13, and the rest of players will get to dive into Obsidian's latest RPG from February 18. In the meantime, here's the specialized press opinions on the game.

On Metacritic, Avowed scored an average of 80% on Xbox Series X (40 reviews) and 79% on PC (36 reviews). At the time of writing, the OpenCritic aggregator had a score of 82% (67 reviews).

Those who have tried the game appreciated the exploration aspect of the game, with plenty secrets to be found. The first part of the adventure is pretty pleasant, the art direction great and the choices to be made are really decisive for the rest of the story.

Unfortunately, Avowed is also very classic in its approach. Its writing is backwards, enemy variety poor and its combat repetitive. To put it simply, the game doesn't invent anything, but does a pretty good job of executing it.
