For the hero of Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Capcom drew inspiration from an actor who died 28 years ago

During the State of Play, Capcom left us with a new trailer for Onimusha: Way of the Sword focusing on the main character of the game, Miyamoto Musashi.

This young, powerful and experienced samurai is capable of fighting one bloody battle after another. But what makes him so special is his physical appearance, inspired by former Japanese actor Toshirō Mifune, who starred in numerous samurai films.

And if Capcom does specify "former actor", it's because Mifune died in December 1997 at the age of 77, after a long career spanning some 50 years. So Onimusha: Way of the Sword will also be a kind of tribute to this great actor.
