CD Projekt RED wants to make romance more meaningful in The Witcher IV
, by Thibaut
Romances have always been very popular with players in modern RPGs. Be it in Mass Effect or The Witcher 3, the relationshipts between the various characters have always had quite a big place in the story of these titles.
However, CD Projekt RED wants to do things a little different in this area with The Witcher IV. In an interview with GameSpot, director Sebastian Kalemba said he wants to give more meaning to Ciri's relationships with the other characters.
"It's a part of the way we make games. It is a part of human nature. It's a very normal thing. Without that I think we wouldn't be able to tell the very full story."
"But as always, we want to pay a lot of attention to it and make it super compelling and very meaningful. So it's not just to make a romance for the sake of making a romance. That's not the CDPR way."
