Riot Games to ban content creators for out-of-game infringements

Riot Games has announced that, as of January 3, 2025, content creators violating its terms of use may be banned even when the offenses are not committed in-game.

For example, a creator using an offensive term during a stream where a Riot game is being played, even if the remarks are not made via in-game chat, could end up sanctioned. These new rules, integrated into the "off-platform" conduct standards, aim to reduce toxicity around Riot games.

Riot specifies that it won't actively monitor social networks, but may apply in-game sanctions if there's toxic behavior reported. Sanctions may include account restriction or suspension of privileges for members of the Partner Program.
