Online toxicity on Call of Duty is down thanks to a new AI-based tool
, by Thibaut
Just a few days before the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Activision has announced its newfound success on moderation of toxicity during online games.
Last June, the publisher introduced ToxMod, an AI-based tool capable of automatically detecting toxic people in mulitiplayer. It has led to a 43% drop of toxicity, with the rate of recidivism falling by 67%. 80% of those who have been warned have not done it again.
It's important to note that ToxMod is capable of distinguishing between friendly jokes and real insults, relying on the responses of other users to the comment.
