Bungie is being sued for possible copyright infringement on Destiny 2

The last few months haven't been easy for Bungie, which founds itself the target of a lawsuit now. It was filed on October 2 by Kelsey Martineau, an American author based in Louisiana.

He accuses the studio of infringing copyright on the Red War story in Destiny 2. The author cites the fact that Bungie stole a significant number of elements from a work he published in 2013 and 2014, three years before the game's release.

Among the similarities we find the name of the Red Legion and the presence of characters with attitudes and mentalities similar to those of the story by the author. The compaint adds that the copying has been "deliberate and intentional", prompting the plaintiff to claim damages. Kelsey Martineau is also seeking to stop the distribution of content related to his work.

Bungie has yet to say anything on the matter.
