A major Destiny 2 bug causes players's names to change

As if things weren't bad enough for Bungie, the last update for Destiny 2 comes with a major bug.

Some users have seen their nickname change without their consent. It's now Guardian followed by a series of numbers. A message tells those affected that this change has been requested by themselves, or that they are logging in for the first time, which is obviously not the case.

Bungie has said on X.com that it's aware of the problem and is working hard to fix it, but that there are many affected at that solving the problem will take time.
