Star Wars Outlaws creative director reassures press after the Summer Game Fest demo

Ubisoft not only showed some new gameplay footage from Star Wars Outlaws at its Summer Game Fest event, but journalist at hand also got the chance to test a demo of the game aftwerwards.

However, it got quite a mixed reception. While some were full of praise for the game, others found the game's mechanic dated or too close to Naughty Dog's Uncharted.

To this, the game's creative director, Julian Gerighty, replies that while the game wasn't necessarily a point of reference, it's a wonderful title and to be compared to a work of said studio is flattering.

He also spoke of the quality of the title, saying:

"I think we have a very compelling overall game, and just a part of it is represented here."

In any case, the game is scheduled for release on August 30 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, so we'll soon be seeing the strengths and weaknesses of Star Wars Outlaws for ourselves, controller in hand.
