The possible new remake of the first Resident Evil is back in the news
, by Thibaut
Here's a rumor that's been making the rounds for a few days now! Capcom is said to be working on yet another remake of the first Resident Evil, with reports pointing to a launch in 2026, just for the 30th anniversary of the franchise.
Biohazard Declassified claims to have further details via an anonymous source. Of course, this is just a rumor for now, so take it with a grain of salt.
It seems the game is codenamed BIOHAZARD: RE1, and has a slower pace than the Resident Evil 2 Remake. The lore is getting expanded and explored in greater depth than in the 1996 and 2002 versions. Of course, the game will have a third-person camera and no more pre-rendered backgrounds, so we should get better graphics and illumination.
Given the limited number of zombies present in the game, we could get a unique model for each one. More bullets will be needed to fell one of the monsters, and the famous Crimsom Heads are said to be back. It remains to be seen whether there is any truth to this or it's just delusions from the fans.
