Embracer Group is turning into three separate companies

After plenty of redundancies, studio closures and sales, Embracer will complete its reestructuring plan by "disappearing". In a press release, the Swedish company has announced its intention to split into three separate entities.

First, there's Asmodee Group, which will specialize in the publishing and distribution of video games based on board games. Next, Coffee Stain & Friends will offer mainly independent, AA and free-to-play titles on all supports. Finally, Middle-earth Enterprises & Friends will handle AAA productions, the Tomb Raider and The Lord of the Rings games.

On the stock exchange, Embracer Group will be renamed Middle-earth Enterprises & Friends. Shareholders will get Asmodee Group and Coffee Stain & Friends shares in the form of dividends. As for Lars Wingefors, the company's CEO, he will form a new company that will include all Embracer's current assets.
