In a message posted on X.com Epic Games has denied any responsability for its Easy Anti-Cheat software in the hacking of Apex Legends during the esport competition.
"We have investigated recent reports of a potential RCE issue within Easy Anti-Cheat. At this time - we are confident that there is no RCE vulnerability within EAC being exploited."

Now that's what you call spoiling an event! The North American esports final of Apex Legends was stopped just before the grand finale due to a hack that led to suspicions of cheating among participants.
As a result, some professional players were unwillingly provided with elements that would allow them to cheat. We're talking here about aimbots or hacks that allow players to walk through walls during the tournament. One user was even banned in the middle of the competition for using an aiming aid. Respawn Entertainment then chose to intervene and suspend the event.
"Due to the competitive integrity of this series being compromised, we have made the decision to postpone the NA finals at this time. We will share more information soon."
