Apex Legends will go on beyond a battle royale

In february 2024, Apex Legends reached the five years milestone. Repawn Entertainment's battle royale has built up quite the community over the years, and there are some surprises coming.

Andrew Wilson, EA's CEO, recently spoke of the studio's ambitions for the future of the game. He also notes that Apex Legends has been one of the company's best launches in the last 10-15 years.

Wilson also pointed out that the aim is to make the game more accesible to newcomers, with some changes introduced to this effect with Season 20, which launched back on February 13.

Finally, EA boss added that "the next phase will then be, how do we think about more modalities of play, how do you expand beyond the traditional battle royale universe? And we’ll start to see that in the coming year."
