European Union launches investigation into Epic's new quarrel with Apple

Relations between Epic Games and Apple are getting ever tenser. Indeed, the Apple brand has chosen to close the developer account of the creators of Fortnite, who were planning to bring their game and the Epic Games Store back to iOS devices.

Since this all stemmed from the Digital Markets Act (DMA) introduced in Europe this year, the European Union intends to stick its nose into the matter. European regulators are going to try to understand why Apple recently decided to close Epic's developer account.

In a statement, the American multinational denounced "Epic's egregious breach of its contractual obligations to Apple led courts to determine that Apple has the right to terminate any or all of Epic Games wholly owned subsidiaries", quoting back to the antitrust verdict of the trial between the two firms back in September 2021.
