Square Enix has already made good progress on the storyline for the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth sequel

The remake project for Final Fantasy VII will be divided into three parts. The second, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, will be released on PS5 on February 29, and of course, Square Enix is already hard at work on the final chapter.
In an interview, director Naoki Hamaguchi stated that there's already good progress made on the script for the third game. The teams have reached a stage similar to the one they reached when Final Fantasy VII Remake was released.
But since work has only just begun, the third game is not expected to arrive for at least another four good years.
