Immortals of Aveum reportedly had a budget of $125 million

Passed relatively unnoticed at its launch in August 2023, the FPS Immortals of Aveum was a commercial flop. So much so that Ascendent Studios was subsequently hit by major layoffs.

A former developer at the studio has revealed several pieces of information to the IGN website. We learn that production of the title cost around $85 million. Electronic Arts then invested $40 million in marketing.

"Sure, there was some serious talent on the development team, but trying to make a AAA single-player shooter in today’s market was a truly awful idea, especially since it was a new IP that was also trying to leverage Unreal Engine 5. What ended up launching was a bloated, repetitive campaign that was far too long."
