SEGA wants to acquire new studios, not be bought out

Despite the sometimes insistent rumors, the Japanese publisher responsible for Sonic is not for sale. The company's COO, Shuji Utsumi, made this clear during an interview with CNBC.

While he says he's "honored" by the interest SEGA is attracting from some big companies, Utsumi believes that an acquisition of this kind won't happen.

He even declares that, after acquiring Rovio (Angry Birds), SEGA is "still looking for opportunities for growth". Further takeovers may be coming after all.
