Gearbox Entertainment may consider going independent

On Monday, we learned that Swedish firm Embracer Group was considering selling Gearbox Entertainment. The company behind the hit franchise Borderlands has not waited long to react to this rumour.
In an internal e-mail that Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier was able to consult, Dan Hewitt, the studio's head of communications, suggested a number of different possibilities.
"The basic assumption is that Gearbox will remain part of Embracer. However, there are many options under consideration, including transferring Gearbox, going independent and many others. Ultimately, we will choose the path that is best for Gearbox and Embracer".
