Zelda: Ocarina of Time gets a crazy launch in London

Today marks the release of the highly anticipated remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on Nintendo Switch 2. And it was against this backdrop that some amusing events unfolded in London.

To maximize their chances of getting one of the special N64-inspired cases, some fans slept on chairs outside the city’s Argos store. The store hosted a Nintendo pop-up shop, offering this gift with any purchase of the game starting at midnight.

Fans on the scene reported that, three hours before the store opened (at 12:00 a.m.), the line was already enormous. It started at the entrance and stretched all the way into a residential neighborhood, right in the middle of people’s homes.

Despite the event’s insane scale, everything went extremely smoothly. Some people were in costume, while others played tunes on the flute. Parents made sure the line stayed orderly, ensuring no one cut in line. There were even Nintendo Switch Sports Resort tournaments held while people waited.

Check out the photos from the event below, taken by someone who was there.
