Activision is working on a new Call of Duty saga

With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, Infinity Ward is wrapping up this sub-franchise that began in 2007. Moving forward, Activision has already planned to begin work on a new sub-series for its famous FPS franchise.

In an interview with The Game Business, Tyler Bahl, Activision’s marketing director, confirmed the production of a brand-new series.

"So, we’ve already stated that a future title is going to be a new sub-franchise and we’ve already laid the groundwork."

Furthermore, Bahl admitted that releasing two installments from the same sub-franchise back-to-back is not a practice appreciated by players. Activision will therefore seek to vary its annual releases.

"It was not something that our community was looking for.

They wanted something fresh, and even though there were different time settings, and ways to play the game with new features, that tonal shift is something that they were looking for."
