Activision and Microsoft announce extension of buyout agreement to October 18, 2023
, by Thibaut
As reported earlier today, the $69 billion Activision Blizzard buyout agreement expired on July 18. With the deadline now passed, the publisher responsible for Call of Duty could, if wished, review the terms surrounding the merger.
However, this will not be the case, as Xbox President Phil Spencer has confirmed that the initial agreement has now been extended until October 18. This should allow time for Microsoft to negotiate with the UK CMA about blocking the takeover in the UK.
