Ed Boon debunks the rumors about Injustice 3 and a fighting game with Insomniac Games

NetherRealm Studios is currently at the center of various rumors of varying degrees of credibility. The most likely one concerns Injustice 3, which was reportedly playable recently during playtests in California.
On X, the studio’s creative director and head of its franchises, Ed Boon, was asked about this by users. He first debunked the rumor suggesting the development of a AAAA fighting game in partnership with Insomniac Games. This information is reportedly completely false.
In another post, Boon also clarified that no testing is currently underway for Injustice 3 or even Mortal Kombat 13. However, he added in a third message that "just because a game isn’t currently being tested externally doesn’t necessarily mean the game isn’t in development", so we can't rule out the existence of Injustice 3 just yet.
Of course, Ed Boon likely wouldn’t have confirmed any information via a simple social media post. We’ll have to wait for an official statement from NetherRealm.
