Insomniac Games claims Marvel's Wolverine features no AI-generated content

It goes without saying that the release of Marvel's Wolverine hasn't exactly been free of controversy. The game keeps being the target of criticism from some social media users, and there's a new one being leveled at the PS5 exclusive, which launched on September 15.

On X, a user shared an image showing a rather strange symbol indicating the restroom. The sign in question displays a logo that appears distorted, leading several people to assume that the developers had used generative AI for this element. Given the post’s widespread attention (viewed nearly 800,000 times), Insomniac decided to respond.

James Stevenson, the studio’s head of marketing and community, spoke out. He simply explained that it was a display bug and that generative AI was not used to create any elements in the final game.

"No. This is a UV map bug and we have a fix coming. There are no AI generated assets in Marvel’s Wolverine."
