Metal Gear Solid 4 ran well on Xbox 360, according to one of the game's producer

The fourth installment in the Metal Gear Solid franchise recently celebrated its fifteenth anniversary. As part of the celebrations, assistant producer Ryan Payton recounted a rather interesting anecdote.
The reason why Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots was exclusive to the PS3 was that the development team didn't want to allocate resources to an Xbox 360 version. Yet, according to Payton, a port had been tested and the title "ran smoothly and perfectly " on Microsoft's console.
However, while such a port was conceivable, the disc format the Xbox 360 had opted for posed a problem. Remember that while the PS3 used Blu-ray, the American manufacturer's machine still relied on CD support. So, a version of Metal Gear Solid 4 on Xbox 360 was hardly feasible on a purely physical level.
