Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom boosts game and consoles sales in Europe

It's been a while since we last reported on the global success of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The Switch exclusive keeps enchanting people around the world, and its commercial success grows with each passing week.
GamesIndustry.biz has just announced that the release of the new Zelda is no stranger to the upturn in the European video game market. Last month, game sales were up 33% on May 2022, while console sales were also up by 40%.
Tears of the Kingdom is already the third best-selling game in Europe for 2023. FIFA 23 is in second place and Hogwarts Legacy is still on the top seller of the year. Even so, sales of the latest Zelda were 2.5 times greater than those of the Warner Bros. RPG in May.
Finally, Link's adventures helped the Switch sell 39% more than May 2022. The PS5, meanwhile, jumped a spectacular 81% over the same period, while Xbox Series sales dropped 16% since last year.
