The video game industry often resembles the game of chairs. Over the course of their careers, developers move from one studio to another, as they take on many projects over the years. Recently, we learnt that Raf Grassetti was leaving Santa Monica Studio after almost 10 years of loyal service.
Grassetti was a key figure on the PlayStation studio, where he worked as Artistic Director. Today, he has announced that he will be taking up that same position at Netflix, where he and his team are already working on a new AAA license to be released on all platforms.
Netflix, willing to enter the gaming world, has recently recruited a number of experienced developers, such as the new studio Director Chacko Sonny, formerly an Overwatch producer. Creative director Joseph Staten, well-known for his work on the Halo saga, is also part of the team. CTO Jerry Edsall, former lead programmer on Gears 5, has joined the studio as well.
