A new God of War could be in development

Launched last November, God of War Ragnarök probably won't be the last instalment of the licence. As well as working on what looks set to be a new franchise, Santa Monica Studio is said to have another project in the pipeline.

The Sony studio is looking for a designer specialising in combat, and candidates are expected to have in-depth knowledge of the last two God of War games. We can therefore assume that the game on which the future designer will be working is indeed a new God of War.
