EA wants to do a multiplayer mode for The Sims 4... but not The Sims 5
, by Thibaut
The Sims franchise looks to be pretty set. Laura Miele, president of EA Entertainment, answered some questions about this by Variety. She hasn't changed his mind and wants to keep supporting The Sims 4.
In fact, Miele believes that a multiplayer mode for the fourth entry would be "one of the biggest growth opportunities for Electronic Arts". She adds that the team is actively working on it and on "what this platform will look like".
At the same time, the head of EA Entertainment reiterated that The Sims 5 won't come out.
"What I wouldn’t want to have happen is you to have to start from day zero and start from scratch and give up all of the things that you have created, give up all of the content that you’ve purchased over the years. We put out over 85 content packs over the last 10 years on The Sims 4, and so resetting that is not player friendly and not a good idea for our community."
