After the mixed reception of Battlefield 2042, Electronic Arts sought to reassure both fans and investors about the future of the franchise. During the company's financial results conference, Andrew Wilson, the CEO of EA, shared a few words about the FPS franchise.
According to Wilson, the developers have the "ability to bring back Battlefield in a completely new way in the future." Wilson expressed being "extremely confident" in the new team leading the franchise.
Indeed, the organizational structure has undergone significant changes in recent months with the departure of several key figures from DICE. Now, Battlefield is under the leadership of Vince Zampella (who heads Respawn Entertainment) and Byron Beede. The latter has worked on multiple Call of Duty titles for almost 20 years.
