Square Enix reveals several unpublished artworks for Final Fantasy IX

We are currently in the midst of celebrating the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy IX. While fans of the license are hoping for the announcement of a remake, Square Enix is content for the time being to reveal illustrations.

In fact, several unpublished artworks have been put online by the Japanese publisher in recent days. These great images were created by Toshiyuki Itahana, the character designer of the ninth entry.

Is this a kind of teasing ahead of a possible announcement of a new project around Final Fantasy IX? It's still too early to say.
