Here's a strange affair between Nintendo and Amazon US

This week, Bloomberg reported quite a strange story. Nintendo products have recently disappeared from the Amazon US site. This is the case for items sold directly by the American firm and not by third parties on its marketplace.

According to "a person familiar with the situation", the Japanese manufacturer has decided to halt its collaboration with Amazon due to an alleged practice by the e-commerce giant's US branch.

Third-party sellers were allegedly buying Nintendo products at wholesale prices in Southeast Asia before reselling them on Amazon US. Amazon even offered to label these products to prove their authenticity. This obviously didn't sit well with the Japanese firm, which decided to withdraw its games, consoles and other items from the site.

However, Nintendo has reacted in a press release, stating that these claims are false. "There is no such fact. We do not disclose details of negotiations or contracts with retailers", said the manufacturer.

Amazon followed suit, saying that "the claims made by Bloomberg regarding our relationship with Nintendo are inaccurate". However, the spokesperson didn't specify which part of Bloomberg's claims were incorrect.
