The ESRB gives some interesting details about Starfield
, by Thibaut
After being postponed, Bethesda Game Studios' action RPG is well on its way to arriving on September 6 on Xbox Series and PC. Indeed, the rating agencies are starting to apply their rating to Starfield. The US ESRB has chosen to apply the "Mature" label (not recommended for children under 17) to the game. The description also tells us a bit more about the content of the title.
"This is an open-world role-playing game where players take on the role of a miner tasked with finding artifacts in the galaxy. From a first- or third-person perspective, players interact with various characters, complete quests, and search for resources while battling enemies (humans, robots, alien creatures, etc.). Players utilize futuristic guns, lasers, axes, and explosive weapons to kill their enemies. Combat is fast-paced, with frequent shooting, screams of pain, and explosions. Attacks against some enemies can result in blood splatter; several environments feature bloodstains on the ground around corpses. The game includes suggestive elements in dialogue and after sharing a bed with characters (e.g., "Life is a sexually transmitted disease that is one hundred percent fatal"; "I'm okay with us going a little wild, but next time let's try it without the jetpacks"; "Talk about seeing stars, whew... that was amazing."). A fictional drug (Aurora) features prominently in the game, with a section in which player characters work in an illicit drug lab; players can also obtain Aurora by stealing it or buying it from vendors (consuming Aurora causes a warp effect on the screen). The words "f**k" and "bullsht" appear in the game. "*
In short, Starfield will be very violent.
