Marathon's director speaks out on not making the game free-to-play

Marathon was one of last week's hotest topics following its presentation by Bungie. The PvP title is due for release on September 23 at a price yet to be revealed.

While some players were expecting it to follow a free-to-play business model, the American studio has decided to make it a "premium game". However, the title will not be sold at full price, as it is expected to cost around forty euros.

In an interview with the YouTube channel “Skill Up”, director Joe Ziegler opened up about this whole affair.

"We’re hoping that what we’re showing is exciting enough that someone is going to take the leap with us, but we are also committed to delivering on seasons past this that will continuously offer to evolve the game without an increase to the box price."

"What we’re hoping everyone understands about the game is that we’re focused on committing to making this a game that’s really awesome, and we think that starting point is really strong at this current time. Everyone’s got their own definition of what is the right price."
