Marathon comes out on September 23 and will have a closed alpha from April 23

Bungie has finally shown its new competitive extraction shooter. The next title from the American studio behind Halo and Destiny will be released on PS5, Xbox Series and PC on September 23, 2025. Marathon will be available for a fee, but we don't know its price just yet.

There will be a closed alpha for the shooter from April 23 to May 4. To take part, you just need the Marathon Community Discord. However, please note that at the time of writing, the server is experiencing malfunctions due to too much people joining.

Marathon is an FPS set on the surface of the planet Tau Ceti IV. Players take on the role of a Runner, a cybernetic mercenary with unique skills. Each team will be made up of three players, and up to 18 people can take part in a single game. The objective will be to collect loot, and when one team dies, another will be able to get all they've gathered.

At the live event dedicated to the game, we were able to enjoy a good dose of gameplay, a trailer and a short presentation film.
