Last August, Hideaki Itsuno left Capcom after more than 30 years of loyal service. The Japanese creator went on to join LightSpeed Studios (a Tencent subsidiary) to work on a new project.
During the Game Developers Conference, Itsuno clarified that the game in development is an action AAA title set in a Japanese context. He said he wants to create a unique experience.
"We're creating a creative environment that combines diverse cultural perspectives with cutting-edge technologies."
"Our focus is on developing game elements that offer players entirely new experiences. The kind of innovations that make players say: 'I've never seen this in a game before'."
Hideaki Itsuno's past credits include such well-known titles as Devil May Cry 3, 4 and 5 and the two first entries in the Dragon's Dogma franchise.
