There will be more film and series adaptations of Xbox IPs
, by Thibaut
After the Halo and Fallout series, Microsoft will adapt Minecraft for the cinema in April. And this is not likely to be the American company's last adaptation effort.
In an interview with Variety, Phil Spencer, president of Microsoft's gaming division, confirmed that other productions will come soon enough.
"We learned from Halo. We learned from Fallout. All these games are self-enriching. Obviously, we'll have a few games that are missing. But what I would say to the Xbox community who love what we're doing is that you're going to see more of it, because we're gaining confidence and we're learning from it."
So we could soon be seeing IPs like Gears of War and why not Sea of Thieves at the cinema or on the small screen.
