Changes at Mojang! The studio behind the must-have Minecraft now has a new leader.
Åsa Bredin, who has presided over the Swedish company since 2023, has decided to leave her position in order "to focus on personal goals outside of work". She has been replaced by Kayleen Walters, who was previously Vice-President and Head of Franchise Development at Microsoft Gaming.
Walters will continue to work from Microsoft's headquarters in Redmond, and will travel frequently between her premises in the USA and Mojang's in Stockholm. She has one of the richest CVs in the business, having spent 13 years at Lucasfilm as Vice President of Franchise Marketing. She then joined Microsoft in 2018, where she notably oversaw branding and entertainment for Minecraft.
