This is what we know about The Blood of Dawnwalker
, by Thibaut
At long last, we got our first look at The Blood of Dawnwalker this week. And in anticipation of the gameplay we are getting next summer, Rebel Wolves has revealed several details about the game.
The Blood of Dawnwalker is a single-player, third-person action-RPG using Unreal Engine 5. Development began over two years ago. The director of The Witcher 3, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, is at the helm of the project and he is supported by quest supervisor Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, who also worked at CD Projekt RED.
This is an open-world narrative game that's an ever-changing experience. The story takes place during the 14th century in Vale Sangora, Europe, a place ravaged by an epidemic, famine and social problems. The architecture of the buildings is inspired by Poland, Ukraine and the Balkan countries in general.
The day/night cicle will play an important role in both the gameplay and the look of the world. Our hero, who goes by the name of Coen, will use swords and other weapons in broad daylight, but once night falls, he'll get to use his vampiric powers. Vampires play an important role in the game, with a thirst for blood to manage and teeth that grow as the game progresses. The vampires are led by Brencis, who has super-powerful abilities and will act according to the choices we make.
Last but not least, Coen will have 30 days and nights in-game to save his family. As you complete objectives and quests, time will advance to convey the sense of urgency of the story. There are plenty of characters to cross paths with, each with their own ambitions and feelings towards the protagonist.
