AMD unveils FSR 4 and the Radeon RX 9060 and RX 9070, both based on RDNA 4

AMD announced its new GPUs at its CES 2025 keynote. Those are the Radeon RX 9060 and RX 9070, both based on the RDNA 4 architecture. These graphic cards feature FSR 4 and a scaling technology boosted by AI.

The RDNA 4 architecture has been completely redesigned in order to offer the following major improvements:

  • Optimized compute units
  • 2nd generation AI accelerators
  • Enhanced Ray Tracing capabilities
  • Better media encoding
  • 2nd generation AMD Radiance DisplayEngine

FSR 4 marks a major advance in graphics scaling. Based entirely on AMD's AI, it offers:

  • High-quality 4K scaling
  • High performance thanks to Frame-Gen
  • Low latency with Anti-Lag 2

It's compatible with all games supporting FSR 3.1, and integrates perfectly with the new RDNA GPUs.

Of course, the stars of this presentation are the new Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 Ti.

  • The Radeon RX 9070 XT comes with 16 GB of memory and targets NVIDIA's RTX 4070 Ti segment.
  • Meanwhile, the Radeon RX 9070 comes with 16 GB memory too but is designed to rival the RTX 4070.

AMD has also announced that the Radeon RX 9060 series, designed to compete with the RTX 4060, will release a little later.

The Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 are coming during 2025 Q1, while the RX 9060 will come at a later date. AMD promises to share more details on the RDNA 4 architecture in the following days.
