The PlayStation Portal has sold around 2 million copies

In a recent interview, Hiromi Wakai, Vice President of Product Management at Sony Interactive Entertainment, spoke about the success of the PlayStation Portal.

While Wakai didn't give any precise figures, Wakai stated that "3% of PlayStation 5 owners have purchased a PlayStation Portal to date", which equates to around 2 million units worldwide.

He also mentions the fact that PS5 gamers with the handheld spend more time gaming overall than others. Wakai mentions that "sers playing on the console first, then later switching to PlayStation Portal to play in another room".

Whats more, Sony intends to "make incremental steps" on the cloud gaming feature available since last November, all based on feedback from players during the beta that's currently underway.

In short, the PlayStation Portal has a promising future ahead.
