Electronic Arts just rejected a pitch of Dead Space 4

After the lukewarm reception of The Callisto Protocol, Striking Distance founder Glen Schofield left the studio in 2023. He then approached EA about making a new Dead Space.

Together with Bret Robbins (Creative Director) and Christopher Stone (Chief Animator), Schofield says he contacted Electronic Arts this year with views to develop a Dead Space 4. The IP came back in January 2023 with a remake of the first game.

Alas, Glen Schofield explained that the American company rejected the idea.

"We didn't get very far, they just said no, we're not interested at the moment, we appreciate it, blah blah blah, and you know, we know who to talk to, so we didn't go any further. We respected their opinion, you know, they know their numbers and what they have to sell all that."
