The devs at Tango Gameworks say they're ready for Hi-Fi Rush 2, but also want to explore other opportunities

In an interview with IGN, Tango Gameworks reiterated its love for Hi-Fi Rush. The studio was already working on a sequel before it got closed by Microsoft and then rescued by Krafton.

Colin Mack, head of the studio, said he sees them releasing a sequel, but that it's too early to talk about it. Meanwhile, Hi-Fi Rush director John Johanas added that the Tango teams' attachment to the series is very strong.

However, Kazuaki Egashira, Tango's project manager, also made it clear that the studio likes to create new things and that this is part of its DNA. In fact, this is what led to them making Hi-Fi Rush.

"Hi-Fi Rush became popular as a new IP, but if Hi-Fi Rush were to stay the same forever, it would eventually become outdated,"

"I think Tango Gameworks is about taking on new challenges. I hope to continue to work in a way that puts developers at the center, without losing our passion."

That said, we understand that the studio doesn't rule out the possibility of working on a new IP rather than going straight to make Hi-Fi Rush 2.
